Pamela Bove, Assistant Principal

Pamela Bove is in her first official year as assistant principal at Gulf Avenue Elementary School.

Education: Bachelors of Arts, California State University Long Beach/ Master of Arts, California State University Dominguez Hills 

Mrs. Bove first began her career in education as a teacher assistant for Long Beach Unified School District. She began her service to the Gulf Avenue community as a Special Day Class teacher for 13 years. She then transitioned as a Resource Specialist teacher for 7 years before becoming an Assistant Principal Elementary Instructional Specialist in January.

Nelson Billedo, Assistant Principal

Nelson Billedo is in his first official year as assistant principal at Gulf Avenue Elementary School.

Years in Public Education: 25

Education: Bachelors of Science, UCLA/ Masters of Arts, California State University Dominguez Hills 

Mr. Billedo began his career in education at Holmes Ave Elementary School.  He then moved to Meyler Street Elementary School where he taught in grades 1st through 5th for over 18 years.  Mr. Billedo was the Title I coordinator and EL designee at Meyler for over 5 years before becoming Assistant Principal this past February.

Ana albizures, title iii coach 

Ana Albizures is our English Learner Instructional Coach for the 2022-2023 school year. 


Years in Public Education: 21 years 


Education: Bachelors of Arts, University of California, Riverside /   Teaching Credential, CSUDH / Masters of Arts California State University of Northridge (CSUN) / In addition, 


Ms. Albizures is also a National Board-Certified Teacher and completed the STARRS Fellowship in support of English Learners Achievement. Ms. Albizures is truly passionate and determined to teach, guide and support our English Language Learners in meeting their academic goals.

Niels Goerrissen, TSP/ Magnet Coordinator 

Niels Goerrissen is the Targeted Student Population/Magnet Coordinator for 2022-2023. 

Years in Public Education: 23 Years

Education: Bachelor of Arts, San Diego State University.

Mr. Goerrissen has served the students and families at Gulf Avenue STEAM School and Magnet Center since 2000. He spent 20 years as a classroom teacher, mainly in fourth and fifth grade. He is currently serving his fourth year in the coordinator position.

Jennifer French, Math Intervention Teacher 

Jennifer French is our math intervention teacher for grades 3-5.

Years in public education: 34

 Education:  Bachelor of Arts, Loyola Marymount University; Master of Arts, California State University Dominguez Hills.

Ms. French is a Master Teacher Fellow in Science from CSUDH.  Throughout her years in LAUSD, she has taught grades 1, 3, 4, 5 and intervention, as well as Special Day preschool.
